"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."
Tara Gogolinski, LCMFT
Therapist at Bethesda Counseling Services
I specialize in working with adults and couples. My expertise includes but is not limited to: communication difficulties, building trust, infidelity, increasing intimacy, premarital counseling, anxiety, and depression. I have extensive experience in providing evidence-based trauma-focused therapy for presenting issues such as sexual trauma and PTSD.
I believe therapy is a healthy and effective resource to allow you to navigate challenges, obtain self-growth, and/or build and strengthen meaningful relationships. It is of utmost importance to me that you feel sessions are a safe space in which you can express yourself without feeling judged or criticized. We have all heard the saying “life is tough.” In both my personal and professional experience, I can tell you that this adage is certainly true. These tough times come from unfortunate or untimely life events, physical and/or emotional distance in relationships, and/or life stage adjustments, which can make anyone feel stuck. Life can also be gratifying, fulfilling, and full of pleasure. I believe you hold the keys to successfully navigate these hardships in order to enjoy the rewarding and exciting aspects that life has to offer. I can help you get there. I strive to provide empathic and supportive therapy that caters to the differing needs of my clients. I believe all my clients are fearless in their ability to be vulnerable, take risks, face challenges, and push for growth.
Outside of my clinical work, I find passion in maintaining a healthy lifestyle (mind, body, and spirit) which includes yoga, going on hikes, and being in nature. I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
